Vietnam Black Soil

Vietnam produces some of the greatest oud known, an extraordinary region rare today but possessed and cherished by every serious collector. In Taiwan, this is the pinnacle for oud, specifically its soil offerings, that is oud found underneath the ground.

Now today supposedly everyone has soil agarwood, what many are actually doing is just burying their oud chips underneath the ground and harvesting them later, this is not soil oud.

Rather soil oud is the remnants of old agarwood trees found underneath the forest floor, truly vintage pieces of oud that have been there for years even decades. These are impeccably rare pieces of oud, weathered and refined by nature, imparting an incredible and unique aroma.

Fusen might be the most acclaimed wood for this tradition, and what wonderful wood it is, but this sinking black soil is truly from a different paradigm!
