Wild Vintage Hindi (triple super)

Region: Manipur/Nagaland

Never before have I struggled so hard to source a batch of oudh, for me this was the holy grail of the oud world, vintage wild Hindi. 

In recent years, we've actually seen some vintage Hindi from the SQ collections arise, small batches fetching eye watering sums of cash at auction. But we've been biding our time for some more. 

Bear in mind, Hindi is the most beloved region of oud to the Arabs, for a long time the most popular of all regions. In recent decades however, the oud from this large region has nearly entirely come from organic plantations, producing great oud no doubt, but lacking that spark that wild oud has.

There is vintage Hindi no doubt, but in an enormously wealthy part of the world, seeking out their most favourite oud is no mean feat. There's a long line of Royalty, high net worth individuals and zealous collectors in front of us, when it comes to this sort of rarity. That's part of what held up our quest to find vintage Hindi wood, the competition has been too high and our pockets aren't as deep as the collectors competing with us.

Recently we had a stroke of luck, a very kind collector, whom we're very grateful to, shared with us some of his exquisite collection. The pieces in this batch are phenomenal, undoubtedly some of the best I've seen ever, absolutely filled with resin.
